Charleston, IL-Pet Drive, February 7th – March 25th . Charleston Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is kicking off a Pet Drive to benefit the County Animal Rescue Education Center. The center has been a huge part of Coles County since 1973 and offers a wide variety of services ranging from rabies control, investigating animal cruelty, to registration, adoptions, and return to owner.

Charleston Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is proud to be helping the center through your generous donations. This is just one way the community can give back and show appreciation for all the center does for these animals. The center has a wish list of items for donation:

  • Bleach, Laundry Detergent, Fabric Softner, Dish Soap, Shampoo, Towels, Rugs
  • Cat Litter, Purina Kitten Chow, Cat Furniture, Dog & Cat Beds, Dog & Cat Toys

The Pet Drive drop-off site is at Charleston Rehabilitation & Health Care Center located at 716 18th Street, Charleston. Please call Stacy St. John at 217-345-7054 for more information.

Charleston Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is also hosting a Pet Contest in March with many local animal businesses offering information, including “celebrity” judges and pet adoption. Please look for the information coming soon. If you have any questions please call Stacy at 217-345-7054.

Senior Prom

Charleston Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is hosting its 2nd annual Senior Prom on February 9th at 2:30 in the afternoon. Our theme this year is “Hollywood Nights.” We are very excited about this event and all it includes! Our “ballroom” will be decorated in the Hollywood theme including walk of Fame stars on the floor, a huge disco ball, the Red Carpet, the famous Hollywood sign, all the lights and glitz that go with Hollywood. We will also have food, music, pictures, and what Prom wouldn’t be complete without a crowning of the King and Queen?! Our wonderful ladies will have their hair done, make-up on and all decked out in Prom dresses that were donated by Catholic Charities in Mattoon. The men will accompany their “dates” in suits with everyone ready to have a wonderful time. For some this is the only Prom they have attended and for others, this event takes them back in time to their own Prom. We are very grateful to the many volunteers from EIU that will be assisting us with this amazing event. We encourage everyone to come experience our Senior Prom. For more information please contact Stacy at 217-345-7054.
