Petersen Health Care announced that Flanagan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, one of the Petersen Health Care communities located in Flanagan IL, has earned the Five-Star Quality Rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), which signifies a “much above average” rating.
Five stars is the highest and most respected rating a nursing home can receive, and is based on health inspections, staffing and quality measures.
CMS developed the Five-Star Quality Rating System to assist consumers, their families and caregivers in finding and comparing nursing homes more easily and to help identify areas to ask questions.
“The driving factor with Five-Star ratings is compliance,” says Greg Wilson, Vice President of Operations for Petersen Health Care. “Consistency is important as well.”
The rating system for U.S. nursing homes was modeled after the American Automobile Association’s worldwide rating of hotels. It gauges comprehensive aspects of elder care, including staff-to-resident ratio, cleanliness and staff ability to prevent and treat simple medical problems.
“This five-star rating demonstrates the high level of service, quality and responsive resident care that is provided by Flanagan Rehab and all our skilled nursing communities 365 days a year,” said Mark Petersen, Owner of Petersen Health Care. “We are extremely proud of this recognition and our dedicated, hard-working team of professionals who provide unparalleled care at Flanagan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.”
