On October 31st Arcola Health Care Center held the 1st annual Fall Fest Community Benefit.  The weather couldn’t have been better for the 100-plus community children and adults dressed in Halloween costumes that visited the facility.  Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of games, hay rides, pumpkin decorating, petting zoo and food.

The Arcola Fire Department was also present with 2 fire trucks for children to enjoy.  They also performed demonstrations on the ladder.  The local pumpkin patch donated all the hay bales, pumpkins and gourds for the event.  Members of the community volunteered their time to assist with the games.

The purpose of the benefit is to raise money for a family or organization in need of assistance.  This year Arcola Health Care Center chose to have the benefit for the Mark Maggio family since Mark had been a business owner in our town and his life ended so tragically leaving behind his wife and two young daughters. Arcola Health Care Center was honored to have his family attend the event.

We were able to raise over $450.00 which will go to the Maggio girls’ trust fund.

We are so thankful to those that helped with the event and those that attended to help show our support and compassion for this family.
