Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center

Jamie Nattier and Lil Miss VRHCC

Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center held their annual Cowboy Christmas family night on December 16th.  The residents and fmailies enjoyed  entertainment from Nashville recording artist Jamie Nattier as well as a visit from Lil Miss Vandalia Rehab.  We held out annual quilt raffle which raised 700.00 for the activity department to use for additional entertainment and resident events throughout the year.  The quilts are made by the residents and our volunteer Eleanor McNutt.

LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center

Marie & Mike

Residents at LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center were able to ride along and tour some of our local Christmas lights. Administrator Athena Brooks and transport driver Melissa Vollbracht took a group of residents that evening from here in LaHarpe to Good Hope to enjoy the holiday season and look at all of the beautiful decorated homes. Residents that were able to go were Alice M., Minnie T., Marie S., Pappy, Marilyn W. and Colleen D. Our physical therapist Mike Davis hung around to help get everyone safely in the van. Pictured are Mike and Marie excitingly waiting to go see the lights. All of the residents had a blast and were very pleased they were able to go and see all of the lights that evening.

Playing Wii Bowling

After some great donations the residents were presented with a new Wii and a sports activity game to encourage participation in group activities and get some upper arm exercise without realizing they are doing it. Today marked the maiden voyage for the new Wii and two residents went against two department heads. There were a lot of on lookers and cheers. This is an activity that the residents are definitely going to enjoy. Thanks to everyone for participating in the ongoing fundraiser, I hear there are a lot of games out there that the residents will want to be playing soon.
