Mindful Movements - Yoga

Courtyard Estates of Sullivan

Beginning December 8th, we started a six-week long “Mindful Movements” class with certified yoga instructor, Betty Lewis. Classes are held every Thursday morning here at CYE.  This is a gentle stretching class that helps participants increase range of motion, improve posture, restore flexibility, and increase breath capacity. Our residents LOVE it and we have had several community members attend as well.

Sullivan Elementary Carolers

We had 84 Sullivan Elementary 3rd graders come to CYE to sing Christmas carols and visit with our residents. Sullivan News Progress was here taking pictures, so I am hoping for  some free press!! They brought hand made Christmas cards with adorable messages written in them as well.

Courtyard Estates of Canton Christmas

Courtyard Estates of Canton

We had an exciting day at Courtyard Estates of Canton Thursday.  Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and two elves came to visit our residents.  This brought so much joy to the residents.  The foursome volunteer doing this out of the kindness of their hearts for senior citizens of the area.  Can’t wait to have them back next year.

Sheldon Health Care Caroler!

Sheldon Health Care Center

Sheldon Health Care Center was recently able to provide area children with their very first Santa’s Workshop. Staff was allowed to take their Workshop to the Nettie Davis School in Watseka one afternoon and they also hosted the event one evening at the facility. Children were able to choose gifts and have them wrapped for their family members with the assistance of Sheldon Health Care Center elves.  Items have been collected for the workshop throughout the year. Things have been donated by staff members as well as resident’s families and the community, and the residents have been busy making craft projects throughout the year. Pictured is Hallie Scott, 4 years old from Sheldon choosing her gifts from Santa’s Workshop.

Sheldon Health Care Santa

Santa Claus paid a visit to the residents at Sheldon Health Care Center at their annual Christmas Party on Friday afternoon. After handing out gifts to each resident, Santa took time to visit with residents, their families and staff members.
