Peoria, IL – Local health care provider Petersen Health Care was featured in Provider Magazine’s Top 50 Nursing Home Chains in the United States list for last year (2005). Petersen Health Care, owned and operated by Mark B. Petersen, debuted in this year’s Top 20 at number 19 in the national rankings and ranked number 1 in Illinois.
Founded in 1974, Petersen Health Care began with two facilities, Kewanee Care Home, located in Kewanee, IL and Robings Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, located in Brighton, IL. The values and philosophies started with these two facilities continue today through the 56 facilities and nearly 4,000 employees throughout Illinois and Eastern Iowa. Petersen Health Care owner, Mark B. Petersen, the son of founder Robert L. Petersen, looks back at his company’s growth and is proud to carry on the tradition started many years ago. “We are fortunate to have a very dedicated and talented group of individuals to enable our company to provide quality healthcare for our over 4,000 residents on a daily basis,” stated Mark Petersen. Changes have also been made at the corporate headquarters, located in Peoria. What once started as a two person operation in Kewanee, IL is now an11,000 square foot corporate office with a 50-seat training area and 35 members on the corporate team at the company’s headquarters in Peoria, IL. Local facilities include Fondulac Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, located in East Peoria; and Timbercreek Rehab & Health Care, located in Pekin.
