Middle School Band Entertains Residents at Palm Terrace of Mattoon

Mattoon Middle School band students entertained the residents and staff at Palm Terrace
Thursday by performing several selections including “Stayin’ Alive,” “Tequila,” “Louie,
Louie,” and “Wipeout.” MMS students walked in formation from Mattoon Middle School along Ninth Street, onto Rudy Avenue and then to Palm A venue. Mattoon Police provided an escort to assist with
traffic.

Courtyard Estates of Peoria gets geared up to celebrate 2013 Supportive Living Week. All across the state of Illinois Supportive Living facilities will be celebrating the success and benefits of the Supportive Living Program. There will be games, competitions, entertainment, socials, and open houses scheduled April 22nd-April 26th that marks the annual celebration of Supportive Living.

Courtyard Estates of Bushnell Fish Fry Fundraiser

Courtyard Estates of Bushnell recently hosted their second “Fish Fry”. The event offered dine-in, as well as carry-out, and FREE delivery service. The meal included fried catfish, homemade potato salad, baked beans, roll/butter & drink- all for only $6.00. The fry was held to honor all the quick response and awesome service from the Bushnell Fire & Rescue Squad. Courtyard provided a free dinner to each of the volunteers from the Bushnell Response team, to thank them for their service to our community. The proceeds from the “Fish Fry” were divided equally between the Bushnell Fire & Rescue Squad and the Bushnell Recreation & Cultural Center. We were happy to raise almost $450.00 for each group.

A Gilligan’s Island reunion was hosted at the Sheldon Health Care Center recently as the Dining Room was transformed into the small deserted island where the SS Minnow was shipwrecked. The residents enjoyed seeing each of the passengers portrayed by staff members. They played Gilligan’s Island Trivia, Guessed number of Goldfish and Lifesavers in the jars, listened to the Gilligan’s Island theme song and enjoyed a variety of fruit as well …
