Piper City Rehab and Living Center
Piper City Rehab & Living Center celebrated Valentines Day with our Sweethearts. We hosted a Romantic Dinner for our loved ones of Ribeye Steak, Baked Potato, Asparagus, and Cherry Pie. King and Queen votes came in and was awarded to June Edwards and Slim Price. Husband and wife for 55 years, Richard & Susie Stork of Chatsworth enjoyed their evening of wine and dine. As we ate and conversed, we were entertained by the valentines that were personalized from the school children in our surrounding schools. Residents and Staff hung over 1500 valentines throughout our dining room for all to enjoy. It was truly a fun experience to mate and match everyone with their valentines.
Piper City Rehab & Living Center visited Humane Society in Kankakee. Residents shredded newspapers for bedding and they made homemade dog biscuits. Pictured is June Edwards meeting and greeting a tabby cat at the Humane Society. This project has touched several of our Residents, and we are going to continue to collect newspapers and bake treats for the god’s snuggly creatures.
On Friday 24th, residents of Piper City Rehab got a hunger for Cupcakes. With several in attendance, they mixed, baked and decorated almost 60 cupcakes for all to share. The flour and sugar was flying that day! Pictured decorating the tasty treats around the table from left: Paul Horridge, Mason Buchanan, and Diane Oelschlager. “This activity is a great way to start the weekend off right” the residents stated.
Batavia Rehab and Health Care
James Nelson & Cheryl Custer, both residents at Batavia Rehab, met in the 70′s and were reunited in early 2011 at Batavia Rehab where they had the opportunity to let their relationship grow. They were married on 2/2/12 at the Kane County Courthouse, with a reception following at Batavia Rehab. I have attached some of the photos. The residents and staff at Batavia Rehab were proud to be a part of their special day.
